BRAND Improvements

American Stone has been in business for over 70 years with the ongoing problems listed below, that affected sales. Once customers arrived they could not find parking due to a neighboring mechanic shop.

Another issue was once in the yard, it was almost impossible for customers to find products without the help from sales associates because of missing and limited sign information.

During my short time with American Stone, I improved the following:

Product Yard Signs

Product yard signs were damaged, missing, and faded to the point that sales were affected. I designed a new durable, fade resistant sign based on a license plate concept. The sign could then attach to a cable over the product. A temporary sale sign for special events and promotions could be attached to the main sign as well.

I also introduced dynamic QR code technology, that when scanned, a customer could see the product on the company website, along with inspirational photos on how it could be used on a property.

Ice Melt Banners

The banner on the left was used for years but was ineffective and boring. I designed a new banner to better showcase the Ice Melt product.

Customer Parking

For decades, a neighboring mechanic shop would park their cars on the street in front of the American Stone Salt Lake City store. Management gave up trying to clear the mechanic’s parked cars. The problem was when customers would visit, there would be no parking. I reached out to city zoning and the police department who gave warnings and citations until the mechanic shop found a new location to park the vehicles. I designed new signs that read, “No Parking Between 10 PM – 4 AM”. The city was in the process of installing them when I left the company. Problem solved!
